Acting as a nomadic international commercial project, or Associations is set in motion with a strong dedication to complex, constantly growing practices while proposing a horizontal approach towards artists' relationship to the art market. Organised in a cooperative structure, or Associations perceives collaboration, transparency and synergy between artists as a shared ground.

or Associations operates in a rhizomatic manner, connecting artists across geographies and cultural backgrounds in forming a distributed network without a fixed center; emphasizing its adaptive modes of working, shaped by contingency, collaboration and care. or Associations is co-founded and runs by artists alfatih (CH), Shuyi Cao (CN/USA), Dorota Gawęda (PL/CH) and Eglė Kulbokaitė (LT/CH), Lito Kattou (CY/GR), Gaby Sahhar (FR/UK) and Jenna Sutela (FI/DE).

or Associations grows out of the acknowledgment that artists’ lives are prone to precarity and aims to create a model of mutual support between the members and the associations’ extended network. or Associations operates as an initiative which, through its structure, endeavours to provide basic income and, thus, a long-term sustainable support to the artists’ practices.

or Associations offers artists a discursive peer-to-peer exchange network and curatorial possibilities through a number of curated exhibitions. Within its pilot activity of two years, or Associations will present a solo exhibition of each of its members, while it will organise other curated group exhibitions and events. or Associations intends to grow and expand their network through international dialogues with artists, writers, collections and institutions.
